Three sources have now confirmed that Sony will hold a new product launch event on April 16th or 17th (depending on region). So far, only one product has been confirmed to be announced on this day.

New products to be announced on April 16th or 17th:
– Sony 16-25mm F2.8 G

Products rumored to be announced in the next 2-3 months:
– ZV-E10II
– FE 85mm F1.4 GM II
– FE 24-70mm F2.0
– Another E-mount lens (specs not yet known)

I think it’s strange that Sony would only announce the 16-25mm F2.8 G, so I’m hoping for at least one more product. I look forward to the announcement. If I could choose which products to release, I would like the 24-70mm F2.0 to be released first.

We already know that Sony’s new product announcements in the first half of this year won’t be all that exciting. As mentioned previously, the major new camera announcement will be in the second half of 2024, so there is no need to worry.

So far, the only confirmed new product from Sony is the FE 16-25mm F2.8 G, but I hope they will announce a new body soon. However, the major new cameras will be announced in the second half of this year, so it seems better not to expect the α7S IV to be announced in April.
